Biography

Dr Mikhail is an Australian born and raised consultant interventional cardiologist dedicated to bringing world-class expertise and compassionate care to his patients.

Graduating medical school at the age of 22, Dr Mikhail went on to complete Physician Training at Prince of Wales Hospital followed by Advanced Training in Cardiology at Gosford and Royal North Shore hospitals, earning him fellowship status with the Royal Australasian College of Physicians. Dr Mikhail then underwent a dedicated fellowship, sub-specialising in performing Complex and High-Risk Percutaneous (minimally invasive) Cardiac Procedures utilising cutting-edge technologies at the Lancashire Cardiac Centre in the UK. Dr Mikhail is also trained in the use of invasive diagnostic procedures to diagnose the often under-recognised conditions of coronary microvascular dysfunction and coronary vasospasm in patients experiencing chest pain.

Beyond clinical excellence, Dr. Mikhail is a passionate researcher, driving innovation through over 40 contributions to either publications in peer-reviewed medical journals as well as presentations at global cardiac conferences. As a member of the Academy of Clinical Educators and conjoint associate lecturer, he nurtures the next generation of medical minds at the University of Newcastle and through supervision of junior doctors through his clinical appointments.
