Biography

Dr Rahul Kurup is an interventional cardiologist who joined Macarthur Cardiology after returning from Canada where he completed a fellowship in interventional cardiology at the London Health Sciences Centre in Ontario. He completed his cardiology training at Westmead Hospital and is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP). Rahul has an avid interest in lifestyle-based strategies to reduce cardiovascular disease as well as diagnostic and therapeutic coronary interventions including stenting, physiology and intravascular imaging. He is actively involved in translational cardiovascular research and completed a PhD, at the University of Sydney, which investigated the role of inflammation in causing heart disease. Rahul is also currently a Clinical Associate Lecturer at the University of Sydney School of Medicine.
